Founded in 1926, Kwizda Agro is a family-owned company and the leading distributor of plant protection solutions in Austria and important player in further geographical markets.
The company not only distributes third-party portfolio, but also develops, formulates and manufactures high-quality products with innovative active ingredients at the plant Leobendorf, nearby Vienna.
Whether it’s for propriety products or contract manufacturing – the development is focused on biologicals – a clear commitment to sustainability that is firmly anchored in the corporate strategy.
Our two latest innovations are RECUDO® and UPSIDE ® - both fungicides for organic, but also conventional farming – that have registrations in various European countries and for several cultures.
Since 2025 we also support farmers with “KX - Kwizda Xperience”, offering digital, data-driven services tailored to local conditions.
More than 460 employees work for Kwizda Agro in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Romania, and the USA additionally backed by a strong strategic partner network around Central Europe.

Protecting sugar beets,

In the world of plant protection, copper-based fungicides have long been a cornerstone of crop defense. RECUDO® is a copper oxychloride fungicide for sugar beet, grape, and apple growers. It offers powerful disease control, making it an excellent tank mix partner for both conventional and organic farming. For growers, RECUDO® means:

UPSIDE® - The New Fungicide for Organic Viticulture
Political pressure and consumer demand for environ-mentally sound and sustainable production are the current focal points of discussion in the agriculture industry. However, there are still few alternatives to chemically synthesized plant protection, particularly in disease control.
Kwizda Agro is trying to fill this gap: as a specialist in the development, registration and marketing of plant protection products, Kwizda Agro is also increasing its focus on plant protection in organic farming, alongside conventional agriculture.
UPSIDE® is one of the first products arising from this development to reach the market. UPSIDE® is based on the active substance ABE-IT 56, which is extracted from yeast cell fragments (Saccharomyces cerevisiae, strain DDSF623).
With its innovative mode of action, UPSIDE® will play a key role in combating downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola) in both organic and integrated viticulture.
